Memphis City Council Approves Zoo Parking ProposalTuesday, the Memphis City Council is approved a resolution for parking at the Memphis Zoo, in an effort to bring an end to the debate between the zoo and greensward supporters at Overton Park.The resolution creates a minimum of 415 parking spaces, in addition to parking along North Parkway and in a general services area, which brings the total to more than 600 spaces.Earlier this month, Mayor Strickland released details of his plan to end Memphis Zoo overflow parking on Overton Park's Greensward, an issue that has been highly contentious between supporters on both sides.
