If you can believe a report from a website called TMGcollegesports, the Big 12 may be closer to actually naming the schools on a cut down of its expansion list, and the University of Memphis is on it.Reporter Mark Blaudschun, who used to be a columnist for the Boston Globe, said there are reports that Memphis, along with 6 to 8 other schools, mostly from the American Athletic Conference, have been sent invitations from the Big 12 to continue their pursuit to join the Power 5 Conference.That means making another presentation to the league some time in the coming weeks.
