The Delta Fair released the following statement after 8 people were transported to the hospital after a ride malfunction Saturday.We have been receiving several comments and messages regarding the Moonraker ride incident yesterday.After being checked out by the on-site EMT, the paramedics told us that there were no visible injuries and that the individuals walked to the ambulance.

At least eight people were transported to the hospital after a glitch in a Delta Fair ride Saturday.Fair representatives said one of those taken was the ride attendant and that everyone walked off without physical injuries."Me and her were on the top of it and the things that hold it down came up and everybody was holding on and are falling inside of it," said Anna Jordon, who was on the ride.

Delta Fair Reps Confirm Incident Resulted In Injuries
It's a Mid-South story getting national attention.Sunday afternoon, Delta Fair officials apologized and confirmed there were in fact injuries Saturday after a glitch on an amusement park ride in Shelby County.Eight people were hospitalized when a ride operator prematurely released the lap bars, causing several people to fall inside the Moonraker ride.
